What kind of sincerity did China release on the eve of Sino-US economic and trade negotiations? Why has the United States continuously introduced unilateral sanctions against China?
After a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that He Lifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, will visit the UK from June 8 to 13, and will hold the first meeting of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism with the United States during this period.

From this short message, we can draw two relatively obvious conclusions: First, according to the consensus of the highest-level call between China and the United States, China and the United States are indeed steadily advancing the agreement reached in Geneva, and this economic and trade consultation mechanism meeting is the best example; Second, the Chinese team was invited to visit the UK, which had already been scheduled, and the China-US talks in the UK were obviously temporary arrangements. From this, it can also be seen that the US side is eager to negotiate with China, which also reflects to a certain extent who is the one that occupies the initiative in the Sino-US trade war.
Even so, China is still prepared with full sincerity. On June 7, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce confirmed that after fully considering the reasonable needs and concerns of various countries in the civil field, China has reviewed the export license applications for rare earth-related items in accordance with the law and regulations, and has approved a certain number of compliance applications in accordance with the law, and will continue to strengthen the approval of compliance applications.
At the same time, Reuters quoted sources as saying that rare earth suppliers of General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Jeep manufacturer Stlantis have obtained a license to export rare earths in China, and the stock prices of related companies have also experienced a significant increase.

However, the source also claimed that some licenses obtained by the US company this time are valid for only 6 months. The implication is that whether these companies can continue to obtain rare earth supply depends on the results of the Sino-US negotiations.
But just as China releases its sincerity, the United States has successively introduced unilateral sanctions and restrictions on China-US economic and trade cooperation, continuing to add obstacles to China-US economic and trade cooperation.
Firstly, on June 6, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued a suspension order to American companies, requiring relevant companies to suspend the sale of products to Chinese nuclear power plants. It is reported that the suspension of exports will affect the nuclear equipment supplier business worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Secondly on the same day, U.S. President Trump signed three consecutive executive orders requiring strengthening the U.S. defense against drone threats and reducing reliance on foreign drone manufacturers such as China. According to U.S. officials, the executive order also plans to include certain companies on a list that prohibits new drones from accessing U.S. networks.

On the eve of Sino-US economic and trade negotiations, China responded to Trump's request to relax rare earth exports, but the United States has continuously introduced restrictions on China. Obviously, the sincerity of the negotiations between the two sides is not equal.
In previous calls between the highest levels of China and the United States, China has made a clear statement that China has been conscientiously implementing the Geneva agreement, and the United States should also look at the progress made in a realistic manner and withdraw negative measures implemented against China.
However, the United States has not only not cancelled its previous negative measures, but has continued to increase its unilateral sanctions. These measures will not only undermine the existing basis of cooperation between China and the United States, but also hinder the implementation of the established consensus between China and the United States, affect the stability of Sino-US relations, and bring more uncertainty to the world.
