According to Cambodian media, on the morning of June 6, Xigang Governor Monsina led a delegation to hold the "Forum on Promoting Investment in Xigang" in Huangshan City, Anhui, China, attracting about 200 representatives from government agencies, business associations and enterprises from China and Cambodia to attend the meeting. The forum focuses on deepening cooperation between China and Cambodia's local governments, promoting Chinese enterprises to invest in Cambodia, and expanding economic and trade and industrial docking.
This event is co-organized by Chan Rattana, Chairman of the Cambodia-ASEAN Development Promotion Association and the Anhui Provincial Local Government. The guests attended the meeting included members of the Xigang Investment Promotion Working Group, officials of the Cambodian Consulate General in Shanghai and representatives of many Chinese-funded enterprises.
Monsina pointed out in her speech that Cambodia-China relations are currently at the best period in history, and the two countries are "hard friends" and all-round strategic partners. Cambodia's "Four Corner Strategy" and "Five Corner Strategy" are highly consistent with China's "Belt and Road" initiative, laying a solid foundation for pragmatic cooperation between the two sides. He said that Xigang is actively building a multi-functional special economic zone, covering multiple key areas such as industry, trade, tourism, real estate and logistics, and has broad development potential.
It is reported that Xigang has previously established friendly cooperation relations with 20 provinces and cities in China, including Anhui. The day before the forum, Xigang Province and Anhui Province officially signed a friendly inter-provincial cooperation agreement to further consolidate the foundation for economic, trade, industry and investment cooperation between the two places.
Monsina sincerely invites Chinese-funded enterprises to use Xigang as their preferred investment destination and conduct on-site inspections to understand the local development environment and market opportunities. He promised that the Xigang Provincial Government will continue to optimize the business environment, provide efficient, transparent and convenient government services, make every effort to ensure the personal and property safety of investors, and promote the smooth implementation of projects and policies.
"Investor safety is our responsibility, and investors' success is our joy." Monsina emphasized in his speech and responded to some negative reports from the outside world, saying that some of the remarks were seriously incorrect and deliberately created panic. He said that the provincial government will continue to strengthen security measures to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of investors, and called on all sectors to view the development prospects of Xigang rationally. During the forum, many Chinese and Cambodia guests delivered speeches on the investment environment and development strategy of Xigang and conducted on-site Q&A exchanges. All parties at the meeting generally believed that China-Cambodia cooperation has broad space for practical cooperation, and Xigang will play an important role in the "going global" strategy of Chinese enterprises.
