As Dubai chocolate is booming, German discount retail giant Lidl is preparing to launch a range of high-end chocolate products in Dubai to seize this lucrative market share.

The Neckarsulm-based supermarket chain announced that it will launch an exclusive chocolate collection next month at its Dubai store, including handmade prunes, truffle chocolates and limited edition chocolates containing local specialty ingredients such as saffron and pistachios. This move is part of Lidl's global expansion strategy and is also a response to the growing trend in luxury consumption in the Middle East.
At present, Dubai's high-end chocolate market is mainly dominated by local brands such as Patchi and Alaa El Bahrain, as well as international brands such as Lindt and Godiva. Lidl's chocolate series is priced between Dh25 and Dh150, trying to attract high-end consumers who value cost performance at more competitive prices.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Lidl has tried the high-end food field in the Middle East market. Last year, the company launched a limited edition date chocolate in Saudi Arabia, which was warmly welcomed by local consumers. This new initiative in Dubai marks its determination to further deepen its high-end food market in the Middle East.
