Jon Peddie Research said that from 2024 to 2028, the compound annual growth rate of discrete graphics cards will be -10.3%, and will reach 130 million installs by the end of the forecast period. In the next five years, the penetration rate of independent graphics cards in desktops will reach 86%. The overall connectivity rate of independent graphics cards for desktops increased to 151% this quarter, an increase of 13.8% over the previous quarter.
In the first quarter of 2025, Nvidia expanded its leading position, with a market share of 92%, an increase of 8.5 percentage points compared with the previous quarter; AMD's market share of 7.3 percentage points in the first quarter of 2025 decreased by 7.3 percentage points, falling to 8%, falling to a new low; Intel's market share of 1.2 percentage points in the first quarter of 2025, lower than 1%.
In this regard, the analyst said that the reason for the decline in AMD's market share is "failed to 6 to 9 in advance Accurate forecast of GPU product demand in months” and “failure to properly allocate capacity between Zen CPU and Radeon GPU”.
