Miguel Uribe Tulve was shot and injured during a political rally held in the capital Bogota that day and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Witnesses said the gunman shot Miguel Uribe Tulvey three times in the head and chest at close range. Two suspects have been arrested, one of them is a 15-year-old boy.
The Colombian government issued a statement calling on all sectors of the country to unite and support the national system, resist all forms of political violence, and offer a reward of 3 billion pesos to capture the murderer behind the scenes.
