On the 4th local time, the White House issued a statement saying that US President Trump signed an announcement restricting visas for foreign students at Harvard University, with a validity period of 6 months. On the 5th local time, Harvard University in the United States filed a lawsuit over the Trump administration's decision to ban its international students from entering the United States.
The US judge issued a temporary restriction order on the 5th to prevent the Trump administration from implementing the announcement of imposing visa restrictions on Harvard University international students issued on the 4th. A judge in the U.S. Federal District Court of Massachusetts issued a temporary restraining order several hours later, requiring the resumption of the right to enter the U.S. at Harvard University before a court hearing and ruling on June 16.
According to the WeChat official account "Yuyuan Tantian", that night, the Trump administration tried again to prevent foreign students from entering Harvard. The State Council instructed the embassy and consulate to reject all visa applications that planned to study at Harvard or participate in exchange programs, and set up an exclusive visa rejection code "HRVD". The order even requires the revocation of the printed but not yet delivered valid visa, while declaring that the visa application fee will not be refunded.
However, Harvard University quickly applied for a temporary restriction order to the court that night, and the federal judge ruled at 9:54 that night to suspend the president's entry ban. Although the court ruled that it was later than the time when the State Council’s telegram was issued, the State Council issued a new order at 7:55 pm the next day to officially revoke the aforementioned visa rejection policy.
