The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the same day that after a brief conflict between the Thai and Cambodian military in a disputed border area at the end of May, the Thai side tried to ease the dispute through peaceful means. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar urged Thailand and Cambodia to continue to maintain restraint on the 6th. According to the arrangement, the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Border Committee will hold a meeting in Phnom Penh on June 14 to consult on the border issues between the two sides.
Hongmanai: Hope to peacefully resolve the border issue
Cambodian Prime Minister Honmanai posted on social media on the 7th, explaining the Cambodian government's position on resolving the border issue with Thailand and expressing his hope for a peaceful resolution of the border issue.
Hongmanai said that in accordance with the principle of maintaining peace, friendship and good cooperation with Thailand, Cambodia decided to submit the border issues of the relevant regions that the two countries had been suspended to the International Court of Justice, aiming to seek a peaceful and permanent resolution of these border issues and avoid leading to new armed conflicts.

Hongmanai said that he will continue to cooperate with all parties in Thailand, use the mechanism of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Border Committee to promote border measurement, draw clear borders between the two countries, and continue to maintain bilateral relations through all existing mechanisms to maximize the protection of the interests of Cambodia and Thailand citizens.

Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Nikon Balankura said at a press conference on the 7th that since the conflict broke out, Thailand has maintained the greatest restraint and strived to ease the situation through peaceful means.

Cambodia and Thai troops had a brief conflict in a disputed area on May 28 in the border area. The fire exchange lasted for about 10 minutes, and a Cambodian soldier died in the conflict.
