The European Union approved the establishment of a joint venture between the British Baiyi Systems Company, Italy Leonardo Company, and Japan Aircraft Industry Revitalization Co., Ltd. on the 2nd, and is committed to jointly developing the sixth-generation fighter jet.

The European Commission issued a statement on its official website saying that the newly established joint venture will become the main contractor and main system integrator of the "Global Operational Air Plan" of the three countries. The Global Operations Air Program is committed to delivering the sixth-generation fighter jets by the end of 2035. The statement said that the new generation of fighter jets developed and manufactured by the joint venture will be used by the governments of Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan, and may also be sold to other countries and regions in the future.
The ownership of this joint venture will be divided into an equally divided system, with the three companies each holding 33.3% of the shares. The company's headquarters will be located in the UK and the first CEO will be held by Italians.
In addition to the United Kingdom, Italy and Japan, France, Germany and Spain are also developing the next generation of fighters, and some people question whether Europe can advance the above-mentioned long-term defense projects at the same time.
