IT Home June 10th news, technology media 9to5Mac released a blog post today (June 10th), reporting that in the Platforms State of the Union session of WWDC 2025, Apple announced that macOS 26 Tahoe will be the last macOS version that supports Intel processor Macs.
Apple stated at the WWDC 2025 conference that it will release next year's macOS 27 Starting from now on, Apple's desktop system will no longer be compatible with any Intel Macs, which means that Apple will accelerate its transition to its own Apple Silicon chip.
Apple emphasizes that although these Intel processor-equipped Mac devices cannot be upgraded to macOS 27, it will continue to provide additional 3 years of security updates for the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, 2020 13-inch Intel MacBook Pro, 2020 iMac and 2019 Mac Pro.
IT Home previously reported that Apple today pushed the Beta update of macOS 26 developer preview version to Mac computer users (built version number: 25A5279m), which is compatible with the following devices:
All MacBook Pro equipped with Apple chips
Intel chips (16-inch, 2019)
Intel chips (13-inch, 2020, four Thunderbolt 3 interfaces)
Intel chips iMac (2020)
Intel chips Mac Pro (2019)
