On June 8, local time, according to an IDF statement, the Israeli Southern Command confirmed in a military operation that the body of Mohammad Singwar, the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the underground tunnel of the European Hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, and stated that his identity confirmation procedure was completed.

On May 31 local time, the Israeli Defense Force issued a statement confirming that in the joint operation between the Israeli Defense Force and the Israeli National Security Agency (Simbet) on May 13 this year, the Israeli Air Force launched an air strike on Hamas military leader Mohamed Singwar and killed him. The statement also stated that Mohammed Singwar is one of the most experienced and highest-level members of the Hamas military organization. He served as the operational chief in the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel and played an important role in participating in the planning and carrying out the attack.
Mohamed Singwar is the younger brother of the late Hamas leader Yehaya Singwar. Mohamad Singwar became Hamas' military leadership in the Gaza Strip after Yehaiya Singwar and former Hamas military leader Mohammed Dave died in Israeli operations last year.
