IT Home reported on June 8 that the AI audio processing chip RK2118G-YX, a subsidiary of Rockchip Microelectronics, successfully passed two core certifications of DTS: DTS Virtual:X (suitable for AVR/Soundbar products) and DTS:X certification. Officials said that this marks a breakthrough in the field of high-end audio processing technology, providing immersive sound effects solutions for the fields of home theaters, Soundbar and in-vehicle entertainment systems.
This time RK2118G-YX The two certifications passed by the chip target audio technology in different dimensions:
DTS Virtual:X certification (for AVR/Soundbar products):focus on virtual surround sound technology, implementing three-dimensional sound field reconstruction in limited speaker configuration through proprietary algorithms, providing a cinema-level surround experience for Soundbar and home theater systems. The test covers core modules such as up-mix, dynamic control, and headphone rendering.
DTS:X Certification:As DTS flagship immersive audio technology, it supports object-based audio rendering and multi-dimensional spatial sound field, it can be adapted to high-end AV receivers and processors. During the test, the RK2118G-YX chip performed excellently in decoding, format conversion, object rendering and other modules, fully verifying its ability to handle complex audio tracks and high-code content.
IT Home learned from Rockchip Microelectronics that the Rockchip Micro RK2118 chip uses high-bandwidth HiFi 4 DSP and large-capacity SRAM, integrating Rockchip Micro's self-developed audio NPU to achieve the deep fusion of the "multi-core heterogeneous" technology architecture, and can support AI algorithms such as vocal separation/enhancement, music separation, noise reduction, and virtual surround sound.
Ruxin Microelectronics stated that the chip passed two core certifications to bring multiple value to downstream terminal partners:
Accelerate the implementation of high-end products: certified chips can be directly integrated into terminal devices such as AV receivers and Soundbars, greatly shortening customer product development cycles, reducing verification costs, and quickly meeting the market's explosive demand for DTS authorized audio and video equipment.
Sound quality and experience upgrade: supports DTS:X immersive sound effects and Virtual:X virtual surround technology, helping equipment manufacturers create differentiated products and provide consumers with a multi-dimensional auditory experience comparable to cinemas.
Global Market Pass: DTS certification is widely recognized by the global audio and video market and consumers, helping to quickly improve the international competitiveness of products.
