On June 5th local time, after Musk and Trump began a public verbal war, Musk posted a vote on establishing a new party on the X website. The next day, Musk announced the vote results and said that the new party would be named "American Party."
In the voting on the 5th, Musk asked: "Is it time to establish a new political party in the United States to represent 80% of the centrist?" At the end of the voting on the 6th, more than 5.63 million accounts participated in the voting, of which 80.4% voted for "yes" and 19.6% voted for "no".

Musk forwarded the vote on the same day and said: "The people have made a voice. The United States needs a new political party to represent 80% of the centrists! Just about 80% of the people agree, that's fate."
He then added that the party will be named "The America Party."

On the 5th local time, Trump publicly expressed his "very disappointment" with Musk, and posted three consecutive posts on social media to angrily denounce Musk's "crazy" for his electric vehicle business and threatened to terminate government contracts of Musk's companies. This also completely angered Musk. He tweeted wildly and retweeted, saying that Trump's name appeared in Epstein's documents, criticizing Trump's tariff policy for "striking a US economic recession", and retweeted "Trump should be impeached."
Later on the 5th, Musk forwarded a tweet calling for reconciliation between the two sides and commented that it was "right" and was believed to have sent out a signal of reconciliation. However, Trump said in an interview early in the morning of the 6th that Musk was "crazy" and a "poor person with problems", and said that he still "don't" want to talk to Musk.
As Musk and Trump escalated, Tesla's stock price fell all the way on the 5th, with a decline of 18% at one point. It rebounded slightly at the close, closing down 14%, but it still hit the biggest drop in the past three months, with its market value evaporated by about US$153 billion. In the morning market of US stocks on the 6th, Tesla's stock price rose 4.3% as of 9:33 am Eastern Time. However, this only makes up for a small part of the previous day's plunge.
