How does "industrial leftover rice" transform into a "green treasure"? What kind of ecological repair password is hidden in artificial rain and snow? How can technological empowerment protect the roots of civilization? On June 9, the final of the 2025 "I am a Beautiful China Tourist" Sichuan Competition Zone event was held at the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum to listen to how science and technology plays an engine role in ecological environment governance and green and low-carbon transformation, and build consensus on ecological civilization construction. Chen Qiulu, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Department of Ecology and Environment and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Organization, attended and delivered a speech. Lu Weijiang, a second-level inspector of the Department of Education, and Zan Xuejun, chief engineer of the Department of Ecology and Environment, participated in the event.
This event focuses on the theme of "Beautiful China·Technology Escort" and is divided into two forms: tour guide and promotional video. After many rounds of fierce competition, 15 tour guides from all walks of life across the province stood out and entered the finals. The finals have two links: independent question setting and random question setting, which comprehensively tests the tour guide's professional qualities and comprehensive abilities.
After on-site review by experts and public and online voting, 3 outstanding tour guides were finally selected. The 2025 "I am a Beautiful China Tourist" Sichuan Competition Zone event was also announced on the spot. The Excellent Promotional Video, Excellent Organization Award, Positive Contribution Award and Best Popularity Award were also announced. Chen Sijie from Deyang Monitoring Station, Shi Xiaoting from Yibin Media Center, Lu Zhenzhen from Southwest University of Science and Technology, and three excellent promotional videos will be recommended to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment to participate in the national selection. This Sichuan competition area event attracted staff from the province's ecological environment system, popular science exhibition halls, wetland parks, enterprises, media and other units, as well as college teachers and students, social volunteers, etc. After the initial screening, a total of 53 tour guides and 21 promotional videos were included in the review. Since 2019, the Department of Ecology and Environment has launched the "I am a Beautiful China Tourist" activity for six consecutive years.
