Since May 28, the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand has lasted for 10 days. During these days, although the two sides maintained government-level consultations, the army remained in a standoff and the border was tense.
According to Cambodia's media news, after the incident, the Cambodian army began to increase troops to the border areas, while the Thai army closed several border trade ports of the two countries, including Poppy, and strictly investigated Cambodia's personnel and vehicles to Thailand, with a strong stance on the war.

It is understood that the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand mainly revolves around the Paveyah Temple area. The temple was built during the Khmer Empire and had sovereignty conflicts due to border division during the French colonial period.
Although the United Nations International Court of Justice assigned the temple to Cambodia in 1962, the ownership issue of the surrounding areas was not clear, which led to more than 40 years of controversy between Cambodia and Thailand. In 2008, the battle took place over the issue of temple application for World Heritage, forming a confrontation situation today.
In other words, the root causes of the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand today, just like the border issues of other Asian countries such as China-India, India-Pakistan, are historical relics of European and American colonialism in the 20th century.

As Cambodia refused to withdraw from the disputed area and the Thai army successively closed several border ports, soon, our country made a statement.
On June 6, a spokesperson for the Embassy in Thailand said on social media that China expressed concern about the recent conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, and has always insisted on resolving disputes through dialogue and consultation, and is committed to maintaining regional peace and stability.
We emphasize that Cambodia and Thailand are both friendly and close neighbors in China and will continue to maintain coordination with the two countries, promote communication and consultation, and do their best to ease the current situation as soon as possible.

In fact, it is in our own interests as well as regional and even global interests to coordinate the severance of the conflict in Cambodia and Thailand as soon as possible.
As an important surrounding area in our country, Southeast Asia's rapid development in recent decades is entirely due to regional security and stability. As the United States is launching a tariff war to stir up the global economy and continues to put pressure on China, whether the Indochina Peninsula issue can be calmed not only concerns the safety of our surrounding environment, but also concerns whether the global economy can maintain development and avoid regression.
What's more, when the International Mediation Institute was just established, although Cambodia and Thailand are not member states, if the conflict can be quelled with our mediation, it will also be conducive to the improvement of my country's international image. We can even take the opportunity to absorb Cambodia and Thailand and participate in the new international mediation system.

With the current large-scale conflicts in Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East, Africa and other places, the world is already in chaos. Not only can the world afford a new regional conflict, we will never allow trouble in the surrounding areas.
