On June 4, on the occasion of the 54th World Environment Day, the 2025 June 5th Environment Day with the theme of "Beautiful China First" was held in Shaoyang City. The Xiangxi World Geopark Museum was successfully awarded the 2025 Hunan Province Ecological Environment Popularization and Education Base, and attended the awarding ceremony on the spot.
Xiangxi World Geopark Museum will take this as an opportunity to give full play to the museum's popular science education function, actively display the achievements of the construction of colorful Hunan and beautiful Hunan by strengthening team building, enriching popular science content, strengthening cooperation and exchanges, vigorously call on the public to practice a green and low-carbon lifestyle, create a good atmosphere of advocating ecological civilization in all aspects, and continuously improve the people's awareness of ecological environment protection and scientific literacy, and contribute the museum's strength to the construction of a beautiful Hunan and a beautiful China.
It is understood that the Hunan Provincial Ecological Environment Popularization and Education Base in 2025 was evaluated by the Hunan Provincial Department of Ecological Environment and the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology. After unit application, municipal and prefecture recommendation, expert review, meeting approval and public announcement, a total of 12 units (bases) from 9 cities (prefectures) were selected as ecological environment Popularization and Education Base.
