Bloomberg reported on June 7 that US Vice President Vance said in the podcast program "This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von" released on the 6th local time that Tesla CEO Elon Musk's attack on US President Trump was "a big mistake", and also expressed his hope that Musk can return to the camp.
Vance said: "I will always be loyal to President (Trump), and I hope Elon will return to the camp in some way, too."
He added: "Maybe this is unlikely now, because he (Musk) has become so extreme, but I hope so."
Bloomberg reported, citing anonymous people familiar with the matter, that Trump encouraged Vance to talk about Musk in more diplomatic terms before taking part in the podcast.
Vance said: "The president thinks he doesn't need to get into a fierce battle with Elon Musk. And I personally think that if Elon can calm down a little, (you will find) it's no big deal."
Vance was also involved during the "war of words" between Trump and Musk. Musk agreed on a post on June 5 that “supported the impeachment of Trump and let Vance replace him.”
On the same day, Vance posted a post on Twitter to support Trump. He wrote: "President Trump has done more than anyone I have ever seen in his life to win the trust of the sports camp he leads. I am proud to fight alongside him."

Bloomberg noticed that Vance's statement on the June 6 podcast was the first time he directly commented on Musk since Trump and Musk broke out.
On the evening of the 6th local time, Trump himself made his latest response to the breakdown of his relationship with Musk while flying to the New Jersey Golf Club on Air Force One.
Trump said: "To be honest, I have been busy dealing with issues of China, Russia, and Iran...I am not thinking about Elon Musk, I just wish him all the best."
Although he pretends to be calm on the surface, a White House official revealed to AFP that Trump has given up on the idea of talking to Musk and is even considering disposing of the red Tesla that witnessed the "deep brotherhood" of the two.
Musk supported Trump and Vance's elections during the election, and then served as head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, leading reforms to cut costs for the U.S. government.
Since Musk left the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency at the end of May, his relationship with Trump has taken a sharp decline. Recently, Musk has repeatedly bombarded the "Big and American" bill proposed by Republicans, and he questioned that the bill aimed at cutting taxes and benefits would increase the federal deficit. The two's verbal war on social media also escalated rapidly.
