The incident was caused by a "big and American" bill recently passed by the House of Representatives. The bill was promoted by Trump. Its main contents include continuing the tax cuts during his first term, increasing the scale of US debt, increasing defense spending, reducing subsidies for new energy projects, etc. The US media called it the core bill during Trump's second term.
But it was this bill that was strongly boycotted by Musk. On June 3, Musk posted on social platforms that the bill was "disgusting", and those who voted to support the bill were "extremely shameful". His reason for opposing the bill is simple, because according to analysis by the U.S. Congressional Budget Office, the implementation of the bill will increase the U.S. fiscal deficit by 2.4 trillion in the next decade.
Trump let Musk lead the government's efficiency department, with the purpose of reducing the fiscal deficit.
