On June 2 local time, Harvard University in the United States requested a federal judge to issue a summary judgment to thaw the $2.5 billion frozen by the Trump administration. Harvard has received 957 orders since April 14, demanding a freeze of funds related to national security threats, cancer and infectious diseases, for rejecting a series of requests made by the White House.
In court documents filed that day, Harvard University detailed the terminated grants, including $88 million for children's HIV research, $12 million for improving the Department of Defense's understanding of emerging biological threats, and $8 million for better understanding of dark energy.
