Korean National Power Chairman's Extraordinary Countermeasures (acting party leader) Kim Longtai said on the 9th that he would submit the reform plans for "invalidation of the opposition party" proposed by him the day before to all party members for voting, and determine his stay or stay based on the results. Although he used his own stay or leave as a bet and made his own trump card, he actually returned in vain due to the opposition of most members of parliament. In particular, the pro-yin faction strongly demanded that Kim Longtae resign immediately. Kim Longtae said dissatisfiedly: "I don't know if the MPs have the will to renew."
Kim Longtae proposed at the General Meeting of Party Members held in Parliament on the 9th that the party theory he proposed to oppose the impeachment of former President Yoon Seo-yeol the day before was invalid, and tried to force the party affairs supervision of the general election candidates, and passed the voting decision of the whole party members in order to elect the September party congress of the next leadership. It is reported that Jin Longtai also said: "If it is accepted in the voting, the reform plan will be promoted. If it is rejected, he will resign from the position of Chairman of the Extreme Countermeasures." Jin Longtai's term of office ends until the end of this month, but the day before he said, "My term of office will be until the completion of the reform", hinting that he will resign after the September party congress.
At the meeting of the general assembly of lawmakers that lasted for nearly 5 hours, there was a fierce debate over Kim Longtai's proposal. Park Hyung-soo, chief deputy representative of the court, said in an interview with reporters after the meeting of the Council Members: "There is an invalid response to the impeachment of the opposition party theory, "Is it realistic and feasible?", and decided to discuss the political plan to resolve this part tomorrow. Almost all members of the parliament said that the party affairs supervision of trying to replace candidates is inappropriate in form." Regarding the matter of leaving Kim Yong-tae's stay or departure to all party members, he explained: "Many people say that the term of the chairman of the extraordinary countermeasures is decided by himself or the Standing Committee, and it is not suitable for all party members to vote."
In particular, the pro-yin faction strongly demanded Kim Yong-tae's resignation immediately. In an interview with reporters after the General Assembly, Mr. Kim Jong-jae said: "The general election has failed, and according to principles (Chairman Kim) should resign." When he served as a member of the Emergency Countermeasures Committee, he resigned on the 5th of this month, he asked Kim Ryong Tae to resign: "Kim Ryong Tae talked about the roadmap of the whole party congress and the party affairs supervision (on attempting to force the replacement of candidates for the election) which was neither publicized nor voted to pass on the Emergency Countermeasures Committee." Member Kang Seung-gyu expressed opposition to the withdrawal of the opposition of impeachment, saying: "The decisions of the members of the MPs of their respective constitutional organs cannot be overturned with the words of the Chairman of the Countermeasures."
On the contrary, the pro-Korean faction chose to support Kim Ryong Tae. Mr. Yu Jae-jun told reporters: "Kim Longtae's immediate resignation is a minority opinion of (the General Assembly of Members)." Regarding the party theory that opposes impeachment, he said: "This is a symbol of the collapse of intra-party democracy. The party theory should be withdrawn." Mr. Zhao Qingtai said: "Before the new leadership team is formed, (Kim Longtae) should go. Before the reform case is completed, (Chairman Kim) is always performing his duties is a way to save our party."
As for what Kim Longtae said the day before, "the term of office is until the reform is completed", some members of the parliament criticized the faction with a lighter color. Ahn Cheol-soo said on social media that day: "Kim Long-tae emphasized the need for innovation and mentioned the agenda of the whole party congress, but first of all, it is necessary to clearly state your stay or not."
