San Francisco police said on Sunday (June 8) evening that about 60 people in San Francisco were arrested during demonstrations protesting Trump's crackdown on immigration policies.
AFP reported that the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement on X that at around 7 p.m. local time, police were monitoring the demonstrations, and suddenly someone "had become violent and began to commit crimes ranging from attacks to felony destruction."
"In San Francisco, individuals are always free to exercise their First Amendment rights, but violence, especially against San Francisco Police Department officers, will never be tolerated."

San Francisco Mayor Luri condemned the "violent and destructive" behavior of some protesters in the city.
He said on X: "Everyone in this country has the right to express his voice in a peaceful way, and local law enforcement will always protect this right and the safety of everyone in our city. But we will never tolerate violence and vandalism. As the crowd gradually decreases, the group of people left behind hurt police, destroyed municipal vehicles, and smashed windows of local businesses."
Agents of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforced the law strongly in Los Angeles last Friday (6th), arresting at least 44 suspected of violating immigration laws, triggering demonstrations that night.
