记者8日从中国科学院高能物理研究所获悉，P波段大功率超构材料速调管研制成功，并顺利通过所有测试完成验收。这是国际首个大功率超构材料速调管，其成功研制标志着我国在加速器大功率核心射频器件领域实现从依赖进口到自主创新的关键跨越。
P波段大功率速调管是中国散裂中子源（CSNS）直线加速器的核心器件。它就像汽车的发动机，为中国散裂中子源直线加速器里的粒子束流提供强大的能量和动力。
2021年以来，研究团队开展了P波段324兆赫兹速调管的研制工作。研究中，研究人员在国际上首次将前沿的超构材料技术应用于这种大型速调管的设计。
据悉，中国散裂中子源近年来不断提升自主创新能力，加速器关键核心设备已全部实现自主可控，并带动了国内相关产业的技术进步。
