Lieutenant General Alexander Zorin, representative of the Russian negotiating team, said that Russia is waiting for Ukraine to officially confirm that the body will be transferred.
Earlier, Zolin said that due to the failure to contact Ukraine, the operation to hand over the bodies of the dead Ukrainian soldiers and exchange prisoners of war was not carried out.
Zorin said: "I'm sorry that Ukraine did not confirm the acceptance of these bodies either the day before yesterday or yesterday. There are signs that the handover operation will be postponed to next week. I reiterate that we are waiting for the Ukraine to issue a formal notice through known channels that the operation to confirm the return of bodies will be carried out."
Vladimir Mekinsky, assistant to the Russian President and head of the Russian-Ukrainian delegation, previously stated that Russia launched the transfer of more than 6,000 dead soldiers to Ukraine on June 6 and the exchange of wounded and seriously ill prisoners of war.
Mekinsky was forced to comment on the Istanbul agreement on the exchange of prisoners of war and the handover of Ukrainian troops. Because Ukraine did not reach the scheduled exchange location, although the date was announced in advance.
On June 2, Meginski said in an important statement issued in Istanbul that Russia has completed the confirmation of the identity of all Ukrainian soldiers who are to be transferred to Kiev. Russia will unilaterally transfer 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers' bodies to Kiev next week. The two sides agreed that the sick and seriously injured will be exchanged according to the principle of "for all" and Russia and Ukraine will establish a special committee to exchange seriously injured soldiers in a non-politicized manner. The relevant exchange will be carried out in accordance with the conventional work process. The two sides will also exchange soldiers under the age of 25.
