Previously, commodity prices in Rakhine State in Myanmar fell by about half, and rose this week. A grocery store owner in Miaohang said that prices have continued to rise in recent days, with the price of each item rising by 500 to 1,000 Myanmar Kyat per day.
She said that now prices are rising almost every day, and it is not easy for buyers and sellers, and the goods will rise by 500 to 1,000 Myanmar Kyats a day.

Commodity prices in Rakhine State have previously risen sharply due to trade routes interrupted, and have begun to rise since March's third week.
A Rakhine merchant who imported goods through illegal channels said about the rise in commodity prices that prices rose because they could no longer be imported from abroad. Now, India's trade routes and other trade routes are closed. The roads on this side of India are in poor condition, and the roads on the other side collapse due to rain. Due to the military situation, local authorities on these routes face road closures, so cargo, including fuel, cannot be transported from anywhere to Rakhine State at present. Rakakhstan still mainly relies on smuggling routes. During the rainy season, due to the harsh road conditions, truck accidents, drowning incidents, and even some merchants die. In recent days, at least 10 ships carrying Indian cargo have capsized on the Karadan River due to rapid water flow, and another merchant has disappeared. The smuggling route has become the main channel in Rakhine State for about a year and a half, and the price increase caused by road network difficulties has become a major problem for local people.
