On June 6, staff from the Thai Wildlife and Plant Protection Department, together with the Hangdong County police in Chiang Mai Prefecture and the Chiang Mai Immigration Bureau, received a secret report and went to a local resort hotel in Hangdong, Chiang Mai for searching, and found a protected animal, bee and monkey for tourists to watch in the hotel.

It was found that the owner of the resort was a 40-year-old Chinese man, Zheng. The police learned from the hotel manager that the monkey owned it and it is not known whether it has a protected animal breeding license. In addition to bee and monkeys, staff also found parrots, kor ducks, bell-horned frogs, four-line tree frogs and other animals raised in the hotel. The bee and monkeys are temporarily detained and taken to the Hangzhou East Police Station.

Police said that Zheng will be summoned and arrested for further investigation to determine whether he has possessed relevant legal documents, or will file a lawsuit against him for illegally possessing and raising state-protected animals without permission.
