At 23:00 pm on June 5, a JD Logistics all-cargo plane loaded with fresh lychees took off from Haikou Meilan International Airport. The fastest express delivery time will allow consumers to taste the fresh sweet lychees that have just been picked from the branches in the shortest time.
This is one of the biggest efforts initiated by JD Logistics this year to help sell lychees nationwide. At present, in Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and other lychee production areas, JD Logistics is leveraging its leading integrated supply chain logistics capabilities to use air transport, high-speed rail intermodal transport, cold chain dedicated lines, and continuously put into use of cold chain warehouse networks and automated sorting equipment at the place of origin, and organize production and sales docking meetings to carry out the four-wheel drive lychee sales assisting action of "direct delivery at the source + integrated warehouse distribution + fast express delivery + production and sales docking".
It is understood that lychees come early this year and have a high flowering rate. Main lychee production areas such as Hainan, Guangdong, and Guangxi usher in a bumper harvest year. In order to help lynong achieve high yields and harvests, broaden sales radius, and allow consumers to enjoy the ultimate freshness of "direct production" in "direct procurement", JD Logistics has increased its investment in resources such as transportation capacity, including investing 10 all-cargo aircraft and nearly 200 scattered routes, as well as cooperating with China Railway Corporation to reserve nearly 10 high-quality high-speed rail lines, and increasing investment of dozens of cold chain lines, etc.
In Hainan, JD Logistics launched a full-cargo litchi machine last year, greatly shortening the litchi delivery timeline from Haikou to most parts of the country. This year, in addition to continuing to use all-cargo aircraft, JD Logistics has also increased its cooperation with airports in Haikou, Sanya, Qionghai and other places, and actively reserves scattered routes. In addition, JD Logistics has also added more than 200 temporary collection points in Yongxing Town, Sanmenpo Town, Chengmai County, Lingshui County, etc. in Hainan's core production areas, investing more than 200 couriers to serve on-site services, and driving the collection vehicles directly to the surrounding areas of the orchard to achieve a one-stop, rapid response of "field picking-pre-cooling treatment-direct delivery from origin".
Lychee is sweet and delicious, but its skin is delicate and has a short shelf life. It is said that "the color changes in one day, the fragrance changes in two days, and the taste changes in three days". To this end, while JD Logistics is speeding up the entire link, it also creates a safe and comfortable "mobile fresh-keeping cabin" for lychees through the "ice bag + EPP insulation box" in the packaging process, so that every lychee can be delivered to consumers in the best condition.
