Los Angeles, USA, has fierce conflicts with the California government over large-scale riots cracking down on immigration

2025-06-10 09:14:29 HKTtodayinfo

A large-scale riots occurred in Los Angeles, California, USA last weekend. The federal government sent to arrest illegal immigrants, which made the locals angry and injured journalists in our country.

This incident was a big deal. The President personally ordered the army to "liberate Los Angeles", saying that he would drive illegal immigrants out. But the California governor did not cooperate and threatened not to pay federal money.

Starting on June 6, the US Immigration Bureau has arrested people in many communities in Los Angeles. They brought guns to arrest people, and even those with identities were taken away, which made everyone panic. The next day, protesters besieged the federal building, police used tear gas to disperse it, and protesters threw stones to fight back.

On June 8, the president directly asked the army to take charge, saying that he wanted to "liberate" Los Angeles from immigrants.

Guardian Governor Newsom fought against the federal government. He said that California pays more than 80 billion more taxes every year, so why is it being criticized by the federal government? He also said that California law does not allow the state government to help arrest illegal immigrants, and it will be fine if the federal government takes it on its own?

The mayor of Los Angeles also opposed it, saying that the federal invasion of local territories violated the rules.

The most violent protests were in Paramount City, where most of them were Latin American immigrants. Many of them do physical work such as construction and cleaning, and have low incomes but support the city.

The federal government is taking heavy measures when it comes to arresting people, and residents can't bear it. Later, the army came and could still be controlled at noon. In the afternoon, the conflict broke out again and the police fired non-lethal bullets. A Xinhua News Agency reporter swollen his leg and injured his arm by tear gas.

The United States has deeper concerns behind this. They counted that the proportion of white people has dropped from 80% to 60%, and it is expected that less than half will remain in 2050. Some conservatives feel that too many illegal immigrants will change the country's structure and want to maintain white dominance by driving people.

But many people oppose it, saying that the United States is an immigrant country, which destroys multiculturalism.

Many people in the Los Angeles community sympathize with illegal immigrants, believing that they also want to make money to support their families. The federal tough arrest of people made conflicts break out. Now that the army has come, it is temporarily controlled, but the two sides are still in a stalemate.

California threatens to stop paying taxes, and the federal government wants to cut funding, and this may continue to be a riot in the future.

After a Chinese journalist was injured, there was a lot of discussion in China. But the quarrels in the United States are even more fierce. Some support the federal government to maintain order, while others call it inhumane.

The White House said it would restore "freedom", but the streets of Los Angeles are still in chaos and cannot be solved in the short term.
