———Laboratory Open Day Event of the Municipal Grain Quality Inspection Center
In order to deepen the awareness of loving grain and saving grain and enhance the public's attention to food quality and safety, the Weinan Grain Quality Inspection Center leverages the "Grain and Material Reserve Science and Technology Activity Week" to hold the "Laboratory Open Day" event on June 5, 2025. This event empowers science popularization with science and uses interaction to convey ideas, attracts enthusiastic participation from all walks of life, further improves the transparency of grain quality inspection work, and advocates a new trend of scientific diet.
The event specially planned the theme experience of "Exploring the Grain Laboratory: I am a Little Quality Inspector", and invited more than 20 teachers and students from Xiaozhai Primary School in Linwei District to enter the laboratory to unlock a scientific practice journey full of fun and knowledge.

Explore quality inspection, sow scientific tinder
At the beginning of the event, professional and technical personnel led the students to visit core areas such as the physical inspection room, chemistry room, and spectroscopy room in an orderly manner. Precision equipment such as gas chromatography and atomic absorption instruments are displayed in front of us. Technical personnel use vivid metaphors and popular language to explain how instruments use "seeing, listening, asking, and touching" to "physical examination" for grain. In the demonstration area of the mycotoxin quick inspection equipment, the students kept a close eye on the operating steps of the technicians, intuitively felt the layers of food security from the fields to the dining table, and quietly planted the spark of scientific exploration in their hearts.

Education is fun and cultivates the sentiment of saving grain
In the interactive session of wheat quality inspection, the students turned into "little quality inspectors" and operated sieves and tweezers with their own hands, from wheat ears to wheat grains, from impurity screening to imperfect grain identification, and experienced the rigorous process of grain testing throughout the process. "It turns out that every grain of food has to 'pass five levels and kill six generals'!" a classmate exclaimed. Subsequently, the short film on the theme of Love Grain Saving presents the hardships and waste of grain production in an animation, allowing students to deeply understand the connotation of "every grain is hard-working". Teacher Fan, the leader of the team, sighed: "This practical class made the textbook knowledge 'motivate'. The children not only learned professional knowledge, but also understood the meaning of cherishing food."

Opening and sharing, practicing social responsibility
" "Opening laboratories to young people is an important step in fulfilling our social responsibilities." Li Dawei, director of Weinan Food Quality Inspection Center, said, "I hope that through interesting popular science, the seeds of 'technology protecting grain, saving and promoting grain' will be sowed in the hearts of children, and drive the whole society to form a new trend of loving and saving grain."
This event has built a communication bridge between quality inspection agencies and the public, so that all sectors of society can intuitively understand grain quality inspection work. In the future, the Weinan Food Quality Inspection Center will continue to innovate popular science forms, protect the bottom line of food security, and build a solid "line of defense on the tip of the tongue" of the people.
