According to Thai media, on June 1, Thai Army spokesman Wentai revealed that it is normal for Cambodia's former Prime Minister Hun Sen to issue a statement saying that the Trimuk Pavilion area belongs to Cambodia's territory, and it is also normal for Cambodia to claim sovereignty over certain border areas, because the evidence they hold is different.

In response to this matter, Cambodian Prime Minister Honmanai issued a statement on the evening of June 1 saying that he had heard a report on the situation on the Thai-Cambodia border, and that Cambodia's position is to use international technology and international laws as mechanisms to solve problems in a peaceful way. Therefore, he has ordered the Joint Border Commission (JBC) to take the following actions:

1. Immediately prepare to hold a JBC meeting with Thailand to resolve border issues and start surveying, demarcating and marking the borders of the two countries; 2. Prepare to include the JBC meeting on the agenda to submit the issues of Ta Moan Thom, Ta Moan Toch, Ta Kro Bei (Ancient Ruins) and Mombei (Green Triangle-Zongbo) to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Hongmanai added that the recent continuous activities of a few extremist organizations in the Thailand-Cambodia border area have incited nationalist activities and may trigger new conflicts in the near future. Therefore, he hopes that both sides will work further to find a solution and reach a peace agreement in accordance with international principles. Nevertheless, Cambodia will reserve the right to defend its territory by all means, including the use of military power in the face of attempts to invade the country's territory with military power.
