Xi Jinping has high hopes for him

On June 6, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping accepted a visit from Panchen Erdeni Quejijeb in Zhongnanhai. The Panchen Lama presented Hada to Xi Jinping and introduced his study and work in recent years. Xi Jinping congratulated him on his progress in all aspects.

Hadha plays an important role in Tibetan culture. It is not only used in religious rituals, but also presents Hada on occasions such as visiting elders and seeing Buddha statues to show purity, sincerity, loyalty and respect. General Secretary Xi Jinping took over Hada, who embodies the sincere friendship of Tibetan compatriots, and encouraged the 11th Panchen Lama Erdeni Quejijeb to take the 10th Panchen Lama as a model to strive to become a living Tibetan Buddhist Buddha with profound Buddhist attainments and loved by monks and lay believers, and to make greater contributions to promoting national unity, religious harmony, and stable development and progress in Tibet.

This year marks the 74th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Tibet Autonomous Region. 74 years ago, the "Agreement between the Central People's Government and the Tibet Local Government on the Measures for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet" was signed in Beijing, declaring the peaceful liberation of Tibet. At this moment, Tibet was forever freed from the shackles of imperialist aggression forces. The serfs turned over and sang, and the songs of happiness spread all over the world, opening up a new era in Tibet's history. The smooth and peaceful liberation of Tibet is inseparable from the strong and powerful leadership of the Communist Party of China and the joint efforts of the 10th Panchen Lama and the Tibetan people.

　　In April 1951, the 10th Panchen Lama went to Beijing to attend the signing ceremony of the 17-article agreement on the peaceful liberation of Tibet. After returning to Tibet, he was committed to maintaining the reunification of the motherland and enhancing national unity. He also made continuous efforts and made outstanding contributions to promoting harmony and unity within Tibet.

　　As a model of patriotism and love for religion, the 10th Panchen Lama studied Buddhism carefully, cared about sentient beings, kept pace with the times, actively guided religion to adapt to socialist society, and became a bridge connecting tradition and modernity, religion and society. In the new era, the mission is the same. Tibetan Buddhism shoulders the important task of guiding religious believers of all ethnic groups to continuously enhance their sense of identity with the great motherland, the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, the Communist Party of China, and socialism with Chinese characteristics, and constantly forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. So, as one of the core leaders of Tibetan Buddhism, how can the 11th Panchen Lama grow into an outstanding figure like the 10th Panchen Lama and shoulder this heavy burden?

Xi Jinping hopes that the Panchen Lama inherit the glorious tradition of Tibetan Buddhism's patriotism and love for religion and resolutely safeguard the reunification of the motherland and national unity. Deepen your efforts in your studies, continuously deepen your religious practice, improve your religious attainments, and strengthen your learning and mastery of all aspects of knowledge. We are active and effective in our work, and will play a better role in promoting the forging of a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, systematically promoting the sinicization of our country's religion, and promoting the modernization of Tibet. In terms of cultivation, we should pay attention to good laws, take the lead in abiding by the law and keeping precepts, and cultivate good morals and noble sentiments.

　　In just over a hundred words, the earnest feelings are all in it. As Tibetan Buddhism, which has great representatives and characteristics, bears important responsibilities and missions in the comprehensive implementation of the Party’s strategy of governing Tibet in the new era. As a heavyweight in Tibetan Buddhism, the Panchen Lama played an important role in maintaining the reunification of the motherland and national unity. Xi Jinping expressed his expectations for the Panchen Lama from the three aspects of study, work and cultivation, hoping that he would grow into an outstanding patriotic and religious leader who is politically reliable, religiously accomplished, morally convinced, and capable of doing things in his work.

　　The Panchen Lama said that he must keep in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest teachings, take the Tenth Panchen Lama as an example, firmly support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and resolutely safeguard the reunification of the motherland and national unity. Continue to study hard, continuously improve religious knowledge and comprehensive quality, and contribute to promoting national unity and progress, systematically promoting the sinicization of our country's religion, and promoting the modernization of Tibet.

General Secretary Xi Jinping's earnest teachings are not only a personal high expectations for the Panchen Lama, but also an important guide for religious work in the new era.
