On June 6, the reporter learned from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Railway Group") that under the organization of the Ministry of Science and Information Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Electrical Engineering of the China Railway Group, the YHGC-1200Z type switch rail flash welding and induction heat treatment integrated machine was successfully developed. This is my country's first switch rail flash welding machine, and it is also a major innovative achievement of my country's railway industry equipment. It is of great significance to improve the work equipment system, improve the quality of on-site welding of rails and transportation safety guarantee capabilities.

It is understood that the equipment is based on the scientific research project of the China Railway Group, led by China Railway Research Institute Group Co., Ltd., and independently developed by Jinying Heavy Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. and China Railway Beijing, Wuhan and Jinan Bureau Group Co., Ltd.
In response to the special requirements for switch rail welding, the project team has carried out innovative research and design in welding principles, mechanical structures, electrical control, hydraulic transmission, auxiliary systems, etc., with high degree of equipment integration and strong adaptability to functions and scenarios. The switch rail flash welding machine adopts constant displacement flash welding technology to control the fluctuation of rail consumption during the welding process to within ±1 mm to achieve accurate control of the switch size; a welding machine head is specially designed to meet the needs of rail clamping in small spaces in the switch area, and integrates a heat treatment device to realize integrated welding and heat treatment operations.

In order to improve equipment adaptability, the project team has also developed two loading platforms: container-type and crawler-type loading platforms. Both types of switch rail flash welding machines can take into account the flash welding of the main line rails. The power supply system of container switch rail flash welding machine has a large power storage capacity and a longer working time, adapting to various working conditions such as new line pre-lay switch welding and existing line switch rail replacement; the track switch rail flash welding machine has a higher integration, meeting the laid-laying and existing line switch paving, maintenance and other working conditions, and is equipped with a portable wireless remote control, which realizes flexible equipment and convenient operation.
According to the plan, each R&D unit will jointly organize the on-site trial assessment of the switch rail flash welding machine.
