According to Shangqiu Radio and Television Media Center, Zhang Wei's mother said that when her son rescued the fifth person, her body was close to its limit. She advised her son not to go into the water again, but Zhang Wei just kowtowed and jumped into the water to continue saving people. When Zhang Wei was dragged ashore, he vomited a lot of water, but he didn't respond.
It is understood that Zhang Wei is an active-duty soldier. He was on vacation at home on the day of his rescue.
