According to the Shanxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision on June 10, Zhai Hong, former Party Secretary and Chairman of Huayang New Materials Technology Group Co., Ltd., is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Shanxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.

The public resume shows that Zhai Hong, born in June 1962, is from Lingshi, Shanxi, has an on-the-job postgraduate degree, joined the Communist Party of China in September 1984, and started working in January 1982.
He has served as deputy director of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Gaoyang Mining Bureau of Fenxi Mining Bureau, director of Liuwan Mine, manager of coal distribution company, deputy general manager of Shanxi Coal Sales Corporation of Shanxi Coal Coal Group, deputy general manager of Fenxi Mining Group, general manager, chairman and secretary of Party Committee, director, member of the Party Committee and general manager of Shanxi Lu'an Mining (Group) Co., Ltd.
In 2015, Zhai Hong was appointed as the Party Secretary and Chairman of Yang Coal Group. In 2020, Yangmei Group was renamed Huayang New Materials Technology Group, and Zhai Hong continued to serve as Party Secretary and Chairman, and stepped down in 2022.
Previously, Liu Jiangao, an external director of Huayang New Materials Technology Group Co., Ltd., and others were investigated.
According to reports, Huayang New Materials Technology Group owns two listed companies, Shanxi Huayang New Materials Technology Group, and Shanxi Huayang New Materials Co., Ltd., owns 10 coal mines and has a certified production capacity of 33.9 million tons/year. There are 21 offices, 5 business sharing centers, and 48 secondary subsidiaries; there are a total of 58,300 registered employees.
