Latest news: This morning (June 10), South Korean President Lee Jae-ming presided over a state meeting. The meeting reviewed and passed two special prosecutions on thorough investigations of former President Yoon Seo-yeol and his wife Kim Kyung-hee’s suspicion: the "Special Procuratorate for Civilian Disasters" that investigates Yoon Seo-yeol's launch of emergency martial law, and the "Tele Procuratorate for Kim Kyung-hee" that investigates Kim Kyung-hee’s suspected stock price manipulation and intervenes in the election.
The South Korean parliament held a plenary meeting on June 5 the day after Lee Jae-ming took office, which was passed. The relevant bills have been passed many times before in South Korea's parliament, but they were rejected by then President Yoon Seo-young or later Prime Minister Han De-soo, Vice Premier Choi Sang-mu and others who later performed presidential powers. After the South Korean State Council reviewed and approved today, the relevant bill will be officially promulgated and implemented by the President. After that, the candidates for special prosecutors will be recommended and appointed, and an investigation will be launched. (Reporter Tang Xin of the General Station)
