The real revenge has not come yet! Putin wants to "get a big one", and tactical nuclear weapons are on hand at any time

2025-06-10 12:13:41 HKTtodayinfo

After Ukraine sneak attacks the Russian strategic bomber, the Russian army fired back at the Ukrainian army on the 6th, but only launched more than 400 drones, and the number of missiles was very small. Therefore, public opinion generally believes that Putin's real revenge is still brewing.

According to an Observer Network report on June 8, Reuters quoted U.S. officials as saying that the White House is not sure the specific time of Putin's retaliation, "but it is expected to happen in the next few days", which will be a "massive and multi-pronged strike." Another senior Western diplomat said Putin's revenge "will be huge, cruel and merciless", and its intensity of the attack "will be further escalate" compared to before. It can be seen that Putin is indeed preparing for a cruel revenge on Ukraine.

So, how does Putin plan to "brutally" revenge on Ukraine? Against the backdrop of a series of attacks on Russia by Ukraine, Russia's tactical nuclear weapons "have always been on standby". Will they be used in subsequent retaliation operations? In this regard, military expert Wei Dongxu said that the MiG-31 of the Russian Aerospace Force can carry a "dagger" hypersonic missile, and the missile "can install tactical nuclear warheads"; in addition, the "Iskander-M" short-range surface-to-ground missile can also carry nuclear warheads, so technically Putin is fully capable of carrying nuclear strikes on Ukraine.

But Wei Dongxu believes that claiming that Russia has put tactical nuclear weapons in a "on standby" state is mainly used as a deterrent tool, checking and balancing and limiting Ukraine's attack on Russia, rather than using it easily in actual combat. In other words, Putin is unlikely to use nuclear bombs to retaliate against Ukraine, and its main role is still "deterrence". So, why didn’t Putin directly use nuclear bombs to retaliate? You should know that after the Russian strategic plane was bombed, many Russian people said that Ukraine had touched the conditions for using nuclear weapons announced by Putin, after all, it hit Russia's strategic forces.

It should be said that there are the following reasons why Putin will not use nuclear weapons. First of all, the Ukrainian army has adapted to decentralized operations, and tactical nuclear weapons are difficult to achieve the "first-term" effect, which will instead cause serious humanitarian disasters. It is undeniable that Putin does have to retaliate against the Ukrainian army's attacks, but this revenge should be directed against the Ukrainian army and the Ukrainian government, rather than targeting it at civilians. If nuclear bombs are used against the Ukrainian army, it will have significant local effects, but it will not be enough to change the situation; if nuclear weapons are used against Zelensky, this may not be accepted by the United States and the West.

Secondly, using nuclear weapons may fall into a trap designed by Ukraine. When Russia and Ukraine have been fighting for three years, why did Putin not use nuclear bombs for a long time, and he would not endure even if he was defeated on the front line? The reason is actually very simple. Nuclear bombs are very different from conventional weapons. Once used, they will be "collectively isolated" from the world. No matter whether you have any reason or not, using nuclear bombs will be isolated. What's more, Ukraine still receives support from Europe, not to mention that Ukraine has not used nuclear weapons. Russia has been defeated to use nuclear weapons against nuclear-free countries. Isn't this a huge failure?

Therefore, given that the use of nuclear weapons cannot achieve a decisive victory, Putin's upcoming "cruel revenge" against Ukraine is likely to not use tactical nuclear bombs. Since nuclear weapons cannot be used to retaliate, how should Putin "vent his anger"? I am afraid that the missiles, bombs and drones of "unprecedented scale" will be used to launch bombings on Ukrainian government departments, Ukrainian national security agencies that are planning the attack, and even the Ukrainian Presidential Office, and completely blow them up to vent their hatred.
