
According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, Los Angeles, on June 10, the US military confirmed that it will deploy 700 Marines to respond to Los Angeles' protests against President Trump's immigration policies.
The US Army Northern Command stated: "About 700 Marines will be integrated into the Los Angeles area troops."
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) began raiding illegal immigrants in downtown Los Angeles on June 7. Police clashed with protesters after news of the state's possible federal funding cuts came out. The White House announced the next day that it would send 2,000 National Guard to Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles District Government then stated that it had not requested the National Guard to intervene, stressing that the decision to send the National Guard was not consulted with the local government.
