In response to Ukraine's continuous attacks on Russia's rear, Russia has taken a series of retaliatory strikes against Ukraine.
The earliest wave of operations began three days ago. Russia launched the largest air strike against Ukraine in three years, dispatching 109 missiles and more than 400 drones to carry out intensive strikes on many cities, including Kiev and Kharkov.
This operation uses air-based, sea-based and land-based missile combined swarm drones, covering almost the entire territory of Ukraine, causing large-scale infrastructure damage.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the targets are mainly concentrated in Ukraine's military-industrial system, including weapons design bureaus, repair plants, drone assembly workshops, flight training centers and ammunition warehouses.
However, the US and intelligence agencies on multiple sides generally believe that they have misunderstood Putin. This operation is not the whole of revenge, but the beginning, and there may be more intensive and destructive blows in the future.

Just start?
Many senior US officials pointed out that although the scale of Russia's air strike was unprecedented, it was more like a warm-up operation and not a full-scale revenge in the true sense.
The reason is that Russia has not used all its means, including key long-range strategic strike capabilities, hypersonic missiles and more symbolic political goals, such as government buildings, command centers, etc.
This seems to mean that there may be more extensive damage and clearer intentions in the future.
In addition, Russia used asymmetric tactics this time, with hybrid missiles and drone bee swarms launching multi-point strikes, indicating that it is testing the limits of Ukrainian air defense systems.
Then once the Ukrainian army is found to have a weak area of defense, the next round of offensive will be more penetrating.
The US also warned that Russia may be preparing for phased revenge, and the target will not be limited to the military industry, but may also spread to strategic facilities such as energy and communications.

China and the United States both issued reminders
Before Russia launched a large-scale retaliation operation, the embassies of China and the United States in Ukraine issued security reminders almost simultaneously.
The U.S. Embassy in Kiev warned on June 4 that the risk of air strikes has increased significantly in the recent past, and called on American citizens in Ukraine to pay close attention to the alarm and be ready to avoid danger at any time.
The Chinese Embassy in Ukraine issued a reminder in the early morning of June 5, emphasizing that Chinese citizens should not go to Ukraine in the near future. Those who voluntarily stay in Ukraine will quickly avoid danger when they hear the air defense alarm. And don't go to sensitive areas for photos, etc.
China and the United States spoke out almost at the same time, indicating that the two sides' judgments on the situation tend to be consistent.
This is a clear signal that Russia's retaliation against Ukraine is a foregone conclusion, and the scale of the attack is likely to be unprecedented.
So, based on this judgment, the revenge actions that Russia has made currently seem to be just appetizers, not regular meals.

Russia has not yet reached its key target
It should also be noted that although Russia and Ukraine have been fighting for three years, the Russian army's attack on Ukraine has continued, but there is a problem that has not been resolved, that is, the Ukrainian intelligence departments and important military production have not been fatally affected.
Ukraine is still able to launch large-scale attacks on Russia and cause serious consequences. In the face of supply shortage in the West, Ukraine can still rely on its military production capacity to carry out some incredible attacks on Russia.
These problems have not been fundamentally solved judging from the retaliation actions in recent days.
This time, it has been a big deal in front of the whole world. Russia may not give up. If it still bombed casually, it would just expand the scale, and such revenge would not really change the overall situation.
So, next, if nothing unexpected happens, Russia will have at least one more severe crackdown to pursue the goal of eradicating the roots.
