Volunteering Team in action
On June 5, the 53rd "World Environment Day", more than 20 members of the "Yangtze River Guardian" volunteer service team of retired soldiers of Suizhou High-tech Zone were dressed in uniform clothes and gathered in high spirits on the Wangchenggang section of Baiyun Lake. A summer water purification volunteer service activity with the theme of "Stand up the Yangtze River Post • Weijingchu Water Network" kicked off.

At the event site, the team members clearly divided their labor and cooperated tacitly. Some hold garbage bags and carefully pick up cigarette butts, paper scraps and other garbage in the grass by the lake; some hold cleaning tools to carefully clean up stains and debris on the road. Despite the scorching sun, everyone's enthusiasm has not diminished at all and they devoted themselves to volunteer services.

After nearly three hours of hard work, the Wangchenggang section of Baiyun Lake has a new look. The originally scattered garbage disappeared, the road surface became clean and tidy, and the scenery by the lake was even more pleasant. The activity has achieved remarkable results, which not only greatly improved the environmental sanitation on the banks of Baiyun Lake, but also planted the seeds of environmental protection in the hearts of citizens through demonstration and guidance made by retired military volunteers, effectively enhancing the environmental awareness of citizens.

In the next step, the "Yangtze River Guardian" Volunteer Service Team of retired soldiers in Suizhou High-tech Zone will continue to uphold its original aspiration and fulfill its solemn oath of "retirement without fading" with practical actions. They will do their best to contribute high-tech strength to protect Jingchu Water Network, and add a bright and dazzling high-tech volunteer red to the picture of World Environment Day, so that the torch of environmental protection will continue to be passed on in Suizhou.
